My Experience

Looking Through Theodolite
Assisting With JPSS VIIRS Subsystems
JPSS VIIRS Closed
JPSS VIIRS Open
VIIRS Blue Marble

This is my work at Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RTX). While here I have assisted with optical alignments, spacecraft assembly, and test equipment design for various programs including the Joint Polar Satellite System Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (JPSS VIIRS) as well as the Next Generation Overhead Persistent Infrared GEO Satellite (Next Gen OPIR). I have extensively used theodolites and laser trackers for metrology and have worked directly with flight hardware in the assembly and testing of the cryoradiator system for the JPSS VIIRS system.

I have learned a huge amount from my time at RTX thus far, including: flight hardware and optics handling, space hardware design considerations, government contract work rules and considerations, and proper cleanroom etiquette and work requirements.

The above screenshots are of me working on the JPSS VIIRS system during it's optical alignment process. The full video may be found here:

Thanks for getting in touch, I'll get back to you soon!

Current Status:

I am a Principal Mechanical Engineer in Southern California working in aerospace and defense. I have 6 years of professional industry experience and am pursuing a masters degree at Columbia University with an expected graduation of Spring of 2026. My current projects are a 3D printed Japanese book binding jig and a miniature RP2040 implementation with an integrated display and battery. I am a published author, having presented a paper on my laser cutter design at the 2018 International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition, and a designated subject matter expert at Raytheon Technologies in the use of Laser Trackers.
